Special guest David Stimson joins us to share from his vast experience in boat design and construction. After apprenticing to noted catboat builder Merton Long, David participated in several new-build projects, including the Gannon and Benjamin schooner Rebecca. After six years as manager of the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard, David established his own shop where he has designed and built the schooners Valora and Naviamo. He has also done restorations on the 1918 McManus schooner Surprise and the 56’ Alden schooner Bagheera, among numerous other projects.
For more information about David, take a look at this article in the Boothbay Register.
